Any vacancy in the municipal court due to a death, disability or resignation of a municipal court judge shall be filled by appointment by the mayor for the remainder of the unexpired term. The appointed judge shall be qualified to hold the position of judge of the municipal court as provided in this chapter. The mayor’s appointment of the municipal court judge shall be subject to confirmation by the city council in accordance with the procedures set forth in Chapter 2.06 LMC.
