A. Failure to perform any act required or the performance of any act prohibited by this chapter is a traffic infraction. The penalty for such infraction shall be $30.00; provided, however, that the fine for an infraction prosecuted under Chapter 11.18 LMC shall be $112.00; and provided further, that whenever, in the future, the state of Washington increases the fine imposed under Chapter 11.18 LMC, by legislation or court rule, the city’s fine shall be increased to a like amount upon the effective date of such legislation or court rule.

B. Any person having been assessed a penalty for an infraction under this code must pay that penalty in the time provided on the ticket or imposed by the court. The court shall impose a penalty in the amount of $25.00 for failure to respond as required by the notice of infraction or pay any penalty imposed under this section within the time required.
