“Sanitarium” means a health station or retreat or other place where resident patients are kept, and which specializes in giving clinical, temporary and emergency services of a medical or surgical nature to human patients and licensed by state agencies under provisions of law to provide facilities and services in surgery, obstetrics and general medical practice as distinguished from treatment of mental and nervous disorders and alcoholics, but not excluding surgical and post-surgical treatment of mental cases.
