A. Veterinarian Clinics. Veterinarian clinics designed for treatment and care of pet animals, such as cats and dogs, shall be operated by a registered veterinarian. The animals must be confined within a building which shall have an exterior of masonry construction (or other building materials and/or construction techniques providing equivalent soundproofing, as approved by the building official); provided, that openings may be provided for ingress and egress according to fire code regulations and for a customer entrance of other than masonry construction (or equivalent) if the front entry is isolated from the balance of the building by a full wall partition. All rooms housing animals shall have mechanical ventilation adequate to provide an exchange of 50 cubic feet of air per minute per animal housed therein. The animal runs shall be surfaced with a minimum of two inches concrete or other impervious materials. Drainage must be away from adjoining properties and should be controlled upon the property involved.
