The chief of police shall have charge and supervision of the Lynnwood municipal jail. The chief of police is authorized and directed to promulgate policies and standards not inconsistent with the laws of the United States, the state of Washington, and the ordinances of the city, as deemed necessary or expedient for the operation of the jail, the protection of the inmates and staff, and to provide for the public health, safety, and welfare.
